John L. Hoffmann - Wagon Maker
His obituary states that, “With the exception of a few years spent at Bertha, Todd County, Mr. and Mrs. Hoffmann have resided in this city. For twenty-five years he was engaged as a wagon maker here.” The New Ulm Weekly Review for August 6, 1884 says, "John Hoffmann for a number of years a resident of Wadena County, has again taken up his abode in this city, having arrived here with his family last week." Jhey probably lived in Wadena County sometime between 1881 and 1884.

He was a long-time member of the New Ulm Fire Department. He was also a prominent Odd Fellow according to his obituary.

Jean Eyrich has contributed a letter that John Louis Hoffmann wrote congratulating his son on his engagement. We are not certain who the recipient was. But we believe it was for Louis.
